Refit: a new life for this Pogo 50 n°2 She was launched last spring in Arzal, Brittany. After 3600 miles, she has arrived safely at her home port in Italy. Fastlight is the second boat in the 50-foot series from the Pogo Structures shipyard. It is also the largest in their racing/cruising range.
A BEAUTIFUL REFIT PROJECT BY THE DREAM RACER BOATS TEAM
The Dream Racer Boats team is very proud to present this technically challenging project. An exciting refit from every point of view !
‘We designed the interior for optimum performance without compromising on comfort or aesthetics. We used lightweight materials and innovative construction methods,’ says Thibaud Ramond, Director of Dream Racer Boats.
‘We are proud to have designed this new interior for an experienced owner with very high quality standards,’ said Yves Le Reste, Head of Design at Dream Racer Boats.
THE LARGEST CRUISING YACHT EVER BUILT BY THE POGO STRUCTURES SHIPYARD
The Pogo Structures shipyard builds fast yachts, suitable for offshore sailing and small crews. It offers a range of boats from 30 to 50 feet. Modern, fun and accessible to all. This No. 2 in the Pogo 50 series previously belonged to an association. This boat needed a serious refit to get back on the open sea. Formerly known as Le Pogo des potes, it has travelled around the world, in many inhospitable regions. Combined with a few years’ enforced rest, exposed to all winds on a Breton jetty, the boat’s general state of repair has not improved.
A TOP-OF-THE-RANGE, MADE-TO-MEASURE REFIT FOR THIS POGO 50
On this project, Dream Racer Boats worked in collaboration with the Filumena Marine shipyard, which specialises in the application of paint to ocean racing boats and nautical maintenance in Arzal. Dream Racer Boats was tasked with completely redesigning the interior layout of this Pogo 50.
The new owner was looking for a top-of-the-range, made-to-measure solution for a large family. From conception to completion of the refit, our criteria were lightness and durability. Our work focused on designing a warm, modern ambience. So we mixed grey cedar and solid oak with large, light surfaces, contrasting with the charcoal-grey floors. The use of PET foam sandwich panels enabled us to meet the client’s weight-saving requirements. This was complemented by the use of noble materials for the veneers, solid wood and resin worktops.
Always with an eye to lightness, the top storage units have been designed in the form of equipment, such as wardrobes and textile doors. Their woven fabric, made from carbon fibre and coloured braids, is a reminder of the fittings and the red and grey hull decoration of this unique boat. The same goes for the selection of hardware, accessories and lighting. They are all of the highest quality and from the world of yachting.
