THE IROISE 48 : A NEW 2023 YACHT TO DISCOVER AT LA ROCHELLE BOAT SHOW
Perspective view Iroise 48 Pierre Delion
The Iroise 48 was born following the meeting of two enthusiasts. One for sailing and regattas, the architect Pierre Delion. And the second in the experience of the great voyage, Loïc Cheynet, owner of the Bord à Bord (BAB) shipyard. Furthermore, the Iroise 48 is an evolution of the Iroise 46. This sailboat built around ten years ago by the founder of the BAB company. The particularity of these sailboats, like other models produced by the shipyard such as the Sealion 36 and the VOLTA 12.20, is its twin keel configuration. Indeed, this particularity offers numerous advantages and is not so common on the market.
A boat signed by Pierre Delion
Created in September 2001, Pierre Delion Naval Architecture is an agency of naval architects. This agency designs boats for pleasure and the professional market. Both for maritime and river navigation.
First of all, the Iroise 48 was designed following discussions between several sailors. The architect, the shipyard and five experienced sailors scattered around the world. From Singapore to the United States via the Reunion Island and Metropolitan France. Active listening to everyone’s experiences and suggestions gave life to precise specifications corresponding to everyone’s needs. One of the objectives was to bring modern lines by working on the design to give it a slender character.

Interior fittings of the sailboat
Secondly, the Iroise 48 is not the first project of the architect Pierre Delion. We can cite the ROVER 12, a charter boat chartered by the Kheops Marine company. A collaboration between Bord à Bord and Dream Racer Boats that continues. In fact, the two companies have come together to create in October 2022, a new layout center in Plestin Les Grêves. The development of this twin keel marks the launch of the new IROISE range. A layout that is intended to be an excellent offshore yacht interior, practical, elegant and durable.

Finally, the Iroise 48 offers pleasant performance both when sailing and at anchor. With a bright saloon and facilities designed for long-distance travel, particularly at high latitudes.
The interior fittings are carried out by a qualified artisanal labor. The joinery is carried out, in accordance with Pierre Delion’s plans. Particular attention was paid to the choice of materials and finishes in order to provide a bright, calm and refined atmosphere with neutral and light tones.
All in all, this makes for an excellent offshore yacht which is sensitive at the helm and with no compromise having been made between offshore cruising and performance.
To conclude, in terms of materials and finishing, we endeavored to preserve the identity of the boat. An Aluminum boat where we place primary importance on the sourcing of raw materials. The resulting interior design respects the offshore yacht atmosphere by bringing more brightness with large light surfaces enhanced by touches of solid bamboo whose color has been adjusted.
